"There are some people who come into your life at just the right time — for me, that was Aunty Sa. I had just gone through a tough patch after failing my A-Levels, and within a year, she helped me turn things around completely — I ended up scoring an A in Mathematics. That result speaks for itself, but what really stood out was her discipline, her structure, and the way she genuinely cared about helping me improve. She held me accountable, pushed me when I needed it, and made me believe I could do better.
Her teaching habits are incredibly effective. She knew exactly how to break things down, when to drill in the basics, and when to challenge me. It wasn’t just about doing the work, it was about doing it the right way, with consistency and clarity. She’s easily one of the biggest influences in my life, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without her."SHAHZAN MOHAMMED SHIHAB (Student)
"It is a testament to Ms. Sarina’s (copious) passion, skill, patience and dedication that I went from an 11% in Add Math and a D in Math respectively at my trial exams, to an A and A* respectively in my actual IGCSEs, in the span of just 4 months under her tutelage. I then went on to complete A-Level Maths with an A* - supported once again by her able guidance. I owe her a tremendous debt of gratitude for her willingness to take me on as a student despite the time crunch and my disastrous trial results. I went on to read law at UCL where I graduated with Honours, and thereafter read the Bar in London. Throughout my time in the UK, I was privileged to learn from some of the most highly-regarded tutors and thought leaders in the world. I can confidently say that Ms. Sarina is among their ranks if not a class above them - she possesses an innate ability to inspire a love for her subject in even the most disinterested tutee.I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a genuinely dedicated and passionate tutor with a true mastery of the art of teaching."GOVIINTHA KRISHNAN (STUDENT)
“Aunty Sarina was a phenomenal teacher on many levels. She was able to transform me from a C grade student to an A* student. Not only were her teaching methods effective, she also wholeheartedly believed in me achieving my goals which is something I believe every student needs. From her I trained my level of determination, commitment and resilience. I would recommend her to anyone.”KAYRA JAMAL (STUDENT)
“Having Pn Sarina as your math teacher is like discovering a hidden gem — the kind of rare find you are almost reluctant to share due to her pure awesomeness. She has been my math teacher for over a decade. Somehow, she has the unique ability to convert even the most complex and mind-boggling math topics into amazingly clear and structured classes as well as notes that I proudly call my secret weapon for exams! Her classes will snap you into focus and set you on a journey from dreading maths to genuinely enjoying it.
But she is more than just a maths teacher. My consistency, discipline and work ethic is deeply rooted in the standards she set, and she remains an inspirational figure for me to emulate. Under her tutelage, I achieved Top in the World for Mathematics in the IGCSE examinations — at the age of just 14, through independent study. I recently earned an A* in A Level Math, and am now doing A Level Further Math. So, would I recommend Pn Sarina? The answer is unequivocally: yes. (She might just be better than your future university math lecturer!)”LIYANA MOHAMMED RAFIDZ (STUDENT)
“When we first met Sarina, we were practically begging her to take our son Mubin. I think Sarina, having had corporate background and a bright person to begin with, had understood what I meant when I said I wanted Mubin to at least reach his potential.
Mubin was struggling for his A-levels. He wasn’t sure of which degree to pursue, and because of that he didn’t know which A-levels subjects to take.
Mubin then decided on Engineering and that he would require Maths, Further Maths and Physics for his A-levels.
Mubin did not do Additional Maths for his IGCSEs, which was usually seen as a precursor or prerequisite to doing A-levels Further Maths, hence we needed to get Sarina’s help. Things did improve rather significantly after that.
But Sarina isn’t just a “tuition teacher”.
I was surprised when Mubin told me that his teacher/school did not allow him to apply to Imperial College or UCL. I can understand the reasons why, which were linked to Mubin’s recent performance, predicted grades etc. But then again, don’t we have 5 options? And wouldn’t it be good if we could still try to apply to Imperial and/or UCL even if we knew we had only a 0.5% chance?
Sarina being Sarina, she offered to come along when we met Mubin’s teachers to discuss the next steps.
Fast forward, Mubin did graduate with a 1st class honours in Civil Engineering from Warwick University and then pursued his MSc at Imperial College. And Mubin is now working in London.
There are things which parents can and cannot do. And there are things which schools can and cannot do too. And there are things which Sarina can do. We are ever so grateful to you Sarina….thanks so much!”SHARIFUDDIN AL-MANAF (PARENT)
"Aunty Sarina was more than just a teacher to us. Her wise words and encouragement made us the people we are today. She took us in as baby birds in math and now we are math eagles!"HASAN AHMAD FADZIL & HUSIN AHMAD FADZIL (STUDENTS)
